Former WWE wrestler Gable Stevenson fails to make Buffalo Bills' roster in todays Wrestling news

Former WWE wrestler Gable Stevenson’s long-shot attempt to make it into the NFL has failed, at least for the time being.

The Buffalo Bills released Steveson on Tuesday, as they reduced their roster to reach the 53-man maximum. It is still unclear if he will be part of the Bills practice squad. Steveson was unlikely to make the Bills’ team after training camp, as he had no previous football experience. In May, he was signed by the Bills to play defensive tackle.

Mike Garafolo, an NFL insider, tweeted: “Source says the #Bills have waived DL Gable Stevenson.” Former wrestler is a development prospect, so this won’t end his career in Buffalo.

Steveson never played football before the three preseason games that he played for the Bills.

Steveson, an Olympic gold medalist and star heavyweight wrestler at the University of Minnesota, was also a star amateur wrestler. He signed with WWE 2021, but only had one televised show. It was a poor performance against Baron Corbin in NXT Great American Bash. Steveson was released by WWE in May.
