Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling’s revival by Scott D’Amore has announced the first match.
AEW’s Konosuke Takeshita and TNA star Josh Alexander will square off at Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling Forged In Excellence in October. The two-night event will take place at St. Clair College, Windsor, Ontario in Canada, on Saturday, Oct. 19 and Sunday, Oct. 20. The promotion has not announced which night Takeshita will face Alexander.
Takeshita & Alexander have only ever faced each other one time before. It was in 2022, for the independent promotion Garden State Pro Wrestling.
Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling, a new venture by D’Amore who was fired from his position as president of TNA Wrestling in February this year amid a leadership shake-up. D’Amore is also the president of this new promotion. This is a revival of Maple Leaf Wrestling, which was popular from the 1930s until the 1980s.
Triller TV will broadcast both nights of Forged in Excellence live as pay-per views. Mauro Ranallo returns to pro wrestling commentary in his role as play-by-play announcer for the promotion. El Phantasmo (Jinder Mahal), Raj Dhesi, Gisele Shaw KUSHIDA Alex Zayne Kevin Knight Jake Something Kylie Rae Trevor Lee and other talent are advertised for Forged in Excellence.
