Tony Khan shares his thoughts on the changes made to Collision.
Tony Khan, while talking to the press on Sunday after AEW All Out about the creative process of the company, mentioned that booking AEW’s weekly Saturday show this year was much easier than last, without mentioning CM Punk.
Khan said:
I honestly think that things are easier to do backstage at Collision now than they were a year ago. I think the flow between the two shows is much better than a year ago. I think that the locker room has improved since last year. As we saw when we arrived here and what happened a year earlier. I think I have a much simpler job because I had to deal last year with the people from Collision and it is a much more straightforward meeting process now to put together the TV than it was at this time a year ago.
Khan’s statement likely refers to CM Punk who was fired by AEW after a backstage fight with Jack Perry during All In last year. Punk returned to the company last year on the premiere episode of Collision after a fight broke out behind the scenes with The Elite at All Out 2022. He has since returned to WWE where he is currently in a feud with Drew McIntyre.
